CHEWING GUM

Post by lisa »

HI, READ ON SISTER SITE LABRADOR RESCUE.

PERSON FOUND HER DOG EATING SUGAR FREE CHEWING GUM OUT OF FREINDS BAG. IT CONTAINS XYLITOL AND CAN BE DEADLY FOR DOGS. HER DOG ENDED UP SERIOUSLY ILL, BLOOD SUGAR DROPS VERY QUICKLY AND CAN LEAD TO LIVER FAILURE. LUCKILY HER DOG SURVIVED AS SHE QUICKLY GOT HER DOG TO THE VETS. VETS ARE ONLY JUST BECOMING AWARE OF THE DANGERS.

SHE WANTS AS MANY PEOPLE AWARE ABOUT XYLITOL AND THE DANGERS, THOUGHT I WOULD PASS IT ON.

Thanks for that Lisa. As a diabetic, I use the sugar free gum and mints occassionally. Will have to be careful.

Thanks again for the warning.
