Well everybody, just arrived back home from funday. Despite the weather, it was a lovely day. Hope you all enjoyed it, we certainly did. It was so nice to see all the dogs and their families, what lucky souls they are to have been taken in by you all. It makes the heart sing to realise what wonderful people there are out there. Also, it was lovely meeting the names we talk to on site, like greeting old friends.

Hope Jan manages to wind down a little now, she must have been shattered with it all.

So, thanks to Jan and her womderful team of helpers for a lovely time.

We've just had the loveliest day,it was wonderful to see all those happy goldens they were a real ray of sunshine even the rain couldnt spoil.Solo really enjoyed socialising and we met some lovely people ,thanks to everyone for making it such a special day Love Kath Paul Dan and Solo xxx

We had a lovely day today. Thank you to all the people who put in the effort to make it special and it was lovely to meet the people we feel we have come to know. I hope everyone enjoyed it and that we raised a bit to help even more goldens find new homes. Can I also say I have never seen so many goldens in one place, wonderful

We've had such a lovely day today. We've met a lot of nice people and their wonderful Goldens, and met some of the people that we "talk" to on the web-site. It never ceases to amaze me how good the Goldens are, all together in one place. It's as if they know that they belong to an "exclusive club".

A big thank you to Jan and her super team, not just for today, but for every day a Golden needs to be found a new loving home.

I haven't wound down yet but thank you all for your lovely comments. It makes it all worth while to know you enjoyed the day inspite of the weather.

It was so nice to see you all but I just wish I had more time to chat to you .

All your dogs looked lovely and in super condition and most important of all they are loved. WHich is all I want for them.

Sorry the trimming didn't go too well. I thought Tessa might have liked the attention but she was more interested in everyone else. Hope you learned a little bit perhaps enought to give you confidence to have a try.
It's not rocket science and if you make a mess it will grow out anyway.

Hi Jan. We enjoyed the demo and thought Tessa was very well behaved. We have always adopted the 'It will grow out' philophosy when cutting the boys hair !!!! They are worse than Holly

As ever the funday was really great, so lovely to see all the dogs looking so well and the owners so happy with them, restores my faith in human kind!

Jan I don't know how you do it, you are a saint, and where you get your energy from I don't know? But thank you and to your team of helpers...

The cakes were lovely...

I loved the book about Sam the rescue dog, read it in bed last night, written (I think not really by Sam but maybe David or Joyce, his mum and dad?). It was a lovely story about him and reminded me of 'Marley and me', but with a happier ending.

I didn't see Cobi and Ginnies mum/dad, did they not make it?

Did Willow win soemthing in one of the classes?

Did anyone else win anything we know from the site?

We didn't enter Amber into anything as shes afraid of other dogs, so we have to try to find a quiet corner for her. It wouldn't be fair to enter her, she did quite well yesterday only 'tried' to attack four dogs, who were trying to be friendly towards her, which was quite good considering how many were there.

Will put some pics on when 'light of my life' gets himself sorted.

Lovely to see/meet other friends in the flesh too!

Hi Susan,

Willow got 3rd in the upto 2 year class, in between 4 boys.
Timber got reserve in the upto 10 year class.

What I should point out, win or loose...You will always take the BEST home

Did any of you watch the 3 dogs on the field playing in the mud?
I think 1 of them was Bronson, it was wonderful to see them racing round, they had a ball of a time

They were all absolutely soaked, caked in mud, and so happy. It was a joy to witness their antics. I think 1 of the photos by Mr.G. is Bronson, you can see how wet he looks.

Hello everybody,
This is Samsmum (and Dad). What a wonderful day the Fun Day was, despite the weather.
So many beautiful dogs, and so many lovely people; everybody got on so well together.
Hope Jan has enough funds to keep her going for a bit - she deserves it as she worked so hard, not only on the day, but with all the organizing and preparation.
Glad so many people bought and liked Sam's little book.
Here's to next year and even more success.

Lovely photos.

When I was little, I asked my father why dogs sniff tails.

The reply was, that many years ago there was a dance for all the dogs.
When they went there, they had to hang up their tails, well, a fire broke
out. They all grabbed a tail and ran, so now when they meet another dog, they are checking to see if that's their tail.

Thing was, I believed him

This is Samsmum - Hello there!
I think Sam, who wrote the little book, is in the second of the photo's. 2nd from right. He had a wonderful time - it was the first time he had been free to socialise with other dogs, as last year we had only had him for two months, and he was still an unknown quantity. He really enjoyed the whole day, and he and I got Reserve in the Best Six Legs!
Glad everybody had such a good time - it just goes to show that we can enjoy ourselves despite the weather!!
