A Postie there is, by the name of Lenny,
His verses they came, so thick and so many,
The goal posts he set, were really quite high,
But respond to the challenge, I'll have a try,
A nicer chap, you couldn't wish to meet,
He's sure got me thinking upon my feet,
He's got the knack of rhyme and verse,
So my reply to him, I hope isn't terse.
Now the poor chap he lost, his fur and his tail,
The thought of this, well, I went quite pale,
The story of how it all came to be,
And the opinion of Snowy regarding me,
He makes me sound like some kind of ogre,
I thought at my age, I'd become quite sober,
So here we are, all jolly and funny,
For these verses, I wish we had lots of money,
For in the Rescue Pot, it would surely go,
The love for our Goldens, for us to show,
These dogs deserve a life to treasure,
Each one, they give us so much pleasure.
So thankyou all, for reading this ditty,
For a Golden without his fur and his tail, have pity.
