The Christmas Visitor

Post by PaulZ »

When all the house was sleeping ,he came in his red suit
Down the chimney as I was dreaming ,one big black boot
Should I bark and warn Mum and Dad ,an intruder in my home
Then out of his sack, a parcel shaped like a bone
"For you Solo, for being a good boy ,as he patted my head
"You are a wonderful golden ! "the stranger said
He unloaded a sackful of presents under the tree
Twinkly paper and shiny ribbons as far as the eye could see
Then he polished off his brandy and munched his mince pie
Put his finger to his lip and with a knowing wink of his kindly eye
Back up the chimney to sled and reindeer went Santa Claus
And I settled back to snooze with my pressie between my paws

Oh Paul that is a lovely poem. Solo's Christmases all came at once when you collected him from the Rescue. I wish you many, many happy Christmases. Our Sam and Rosie weren't fazed by all the festivities. I did think Rosie might have been having a go at the Christmas Tree! The only thing that happened was she "found" some tinsel while we were at Christingle Service and had "played" with it. Result = a trail of golden fronds throughout the house.
