HEAT WAVE

Post by lynn wise »

Thank goodness it's over for the time being. Am I being a grump saying that?
What a scorcher, I feel wrecked, don't know about all of you. Seem to have
spent a lot of the time indoors, and so tired with it.
Poor Woody, he's a really hot dog, takes him ages to settle back down after
a walk. Tried to keep to early mornings and evenings with them. Have even
had him wrapped in a wet towel, which proved to be a job in itself,as little madam's
got a thing on towels, her alternative comfy blanket, so she just kept whipping them off.
I then have to go round the garden gathering up :2010:

Take care all, enjoy the respite. xxx

I am like you Lynn, can't cope with the heat, well not just the heat but all the sweating or should I say glowing to be more ladylike.

I have to say that my oldies coped remarkably well and Tessa even sunbathed at one point but had to spoil it for her and make her go indoors. They spent their days on the cool tiled floor in the kitchen & utility rooms.

Pleased it is dull today. :2035:

Our two needed water walks morning and afternoon.
Big Jazz loves his fishing anyway so he was happy. Candy flops in the water like a hippo lets out a low growl and then a woof.
Then a gentle ziz in the sun. I think the light coloured retrievers cope better with the heat.

Thank goodness its a bit cooler today - I might be able to sleep tonight :2005: am surviving on auto-pilot at the moment.

I have conjured up a picture of Willow pinching Woodys wet towels - little madam she is just jealous :2035:
Amber would be the same!!

Got to agree with you ladies it was too hot for me and mine, P&L stayed on the kitchen floor under the fan, for most of the day then 9pm and it was starting to cool down time for walks, the other night we were taking them for a walk at 11pm and it was quite pleasant...!
