Dear Jan
Thank you for accepting me onto the Retriever Rescue site, you probably wont remember me but in 1995 we came to the rescue and left with Toby a lovely BIG white fluffy bundle of fun we had him for 12years and then sadly he left a big gap in our lives.I brought up the web site a couple of weeks ago and read some of the letters and its great to know you are still doing the lovely job of rehoming the retrievers and dont forget if ever you want raffle tickets selling just send them and i will do my best.
We never filled tobys place but i am thinking about it so watch this space!
Hope to hear from you soon
Best Regards Sue Fairfield

Re: new reader
So sorry to hear you lost your bundle of love in Toby, the loss of a beloved golden does take time to get over, your memories must, bring so many happy times that you shared together back. Some do not wish to rehome another golden, for the sake of the memory of the one they have lost, feeling some sort of betrayal, and I can understand that. When I lost my first golden that thought stuck in my mind, then I thought, I will rehome another golden because of Sunny, we shared 12 wonderful years with him, and have now partly through him had even more happy times with Emily and Snowy, Sunny was special , and he would im sure be so happy that we have carried on the legacy he started. Not forgetting the huge part Jan has played in our family, two legged and four legged.

Re: new reader
Sorry to read of your loss Sue, but welcome to the site. I'm sure you will find help and encouragement from reading the many posts.
Yes, Jan is still here doing her stuff, what our wonderful Goldens would do without her I dread to think. There are so many poor souls that need her, where would they be without a caring lady to help them mend.
Hope you are soon able to give a loving and caring home to another dog.
Keep in touch with us all.
