My first post.
'Just to say hello to fellow Golden lovers, my wife Jackie & I have had Goldens in our lives for over 26yrs and I found this wonderful site after our last dog: Josh (JB) had to be pts on Aug 1st., he was fourteen, I first met him at four weeks & collected him from Mrs Hathaway two weeks later, needless to say I'm still suffering but just being able to come here is a great help.
As I explained to Jan "JB" was a real character totally wilful & my best friend, he loved bonfire night & Christmas & would ask to go outside to watch the fireworks until he either got bored or was tempted indoors by sausages, I miss him terribly, I will post some pictures of him if I can, until then thanks to Jan for all her hard work & I hope the Fun Day on Saturday is a great success.

Hi Steve and Jackie, welcome to our site.
So very sorry to hear of your sad loss of Josh, how you must miss him. They become so much a part of the family don't they, and in those fourteen years, so many wonderful memories to cherish and to keep forever.
You are in our thoughts,
Ella,s Mum.

Hello Steve and Jackie,
So sorry to hear of your very sad loss of Josh. it is such a blow when we lose our beloved friends, but at least they leave behind such wonderful memories, and I hope these bring you comfort in the coming days.

hi steve and jackie, welcome to the site and my thoughts go out to you on your sad loss. i too found this site after milo died even though i got him from jan over 10 years ago. like you i have found this site a source of comfort and even amusement over the last couple of months. i would encourage you to persevere when trying to put photo's on here( it took me a few goes), it can be very therapeutic and also we all love to see a nice photo of much loved goldens. passed or not.

Dear Steve and Jackie, I'm so sorry you have lost your friend Josh. It is really heartbreaking they really are a big part of your life and it does leave a big hole in your heart. Welcome to the site which helped me in January when we lost our golden called Katie, she would have been 14 in april 2nd. I really miss Katie and wander about on my own in the garden and it just isnt the same, life is not the same. In fact I was just saying to Gordon how I feel the fun has gone out of our lives.
It takes a long time to adjust when youve had them so long in your lives 14 years is a big chunk of your lives. Anyway you both know as youve had retrievers in your life for years but this website is such a good place to offload and is fun too. Seeing photos of other goldens is such fun to see and helps to brighten up how you are feeling. Everyone understands.
They are such a beautiful breed and just melt your heart.
Thinking of you both

Thank you all for your welcome messages, I am still struggling with adding pictures to a post, every time I try the page locks up!, so I shall wait for help from Daughter, however I did manage to put a picture of "JB" into my avatar 'hope you can see him, it was taken on my mobile phone whilst he was helping with the Christmas wrapping.
....Thanks again steve.
