Re: Bronson not well
My first dog Sunny did his cruciate when he was young and with care and a slow build up of his exercise he made almost a full recovery, although he had a slight limp for the rest of his life it did not change anything he did, and he lived a full and happy life. Im sure Bronson will do the same. Good luck to you all.

Dont' worry when you collect him.... with his bald leg very roughly stitched (if that's the way they still do the OP) he will be fine....

Re: Bronsons update
Just an update on Bronson.
At the moment bronson is up and down like a pup he is running round as i think he is really missing his walks he is walking like he has never had an operation.
The vet has put him on metacom and also Seraquin but we have decided only to give him the metacom as he does not need any more pain relief or to make it easier as it helps with his joints because it is obvious how he is acting he is not in any pain as now he does not struggle to get up.We took him for his check up and the vet said oh bronson is putting his foot on the floor that was after 4 days.He has 5 more weeks before he can go on his walk we belive he will end up climbing the walls.(he is supposed to be kept quite)
HE goes for his Stitches out on Tuesday.
We will probably put him in Seraquin when he is back to normal. If any GR are on it and get it from the vets check the internet it is alot cheaper as is it not a prescription drug.
After what he has been through with the vets he still went in wagging his tail being the happy bronson (he is a Star)
bronson says hi to everybody and thaks for all the get well wishes especially Auntie Jan as if he was not for her we would never have got our Bronson
Take care

Re: Bronson not well
Brilliant news. So very pleased to hear that all is going well, what a relief for you. Sounds like he is being quite a handful, it must be hard trying to keep him steady.
You'll probably be climbing the wall with him

Re: Bronson not well
Hi Julie Mike & Bronson.
So very pleased Bronson is progressing well. I think you could take him for five minutes walk Just to get him out and walking slowly. I think to keep in him in for five weeks would do more harm than good. Just check with your vet that that is what he said because I think you need to be doing the physio of slow walking sooner.

Re: Bronson not well
hi jan
Funny you should mention Bronson having a little walk (5 mins) as we was going to ring you later to ask you what you thought. Bronson was looking at me and crying i said to him what do you want he went to his lead which is hung up and started pulling it.We did ask the vet on Monday and we said could we not take him just for 5 mins he said no only on the garden on a lead.he is putting his foot now down not hopping anymore.
Anyway Jan we are going back on Tues to have his stitches out and we will see what he says then.
I pasified him this afternoon by sitting at the front door with him as he will sit there all day on his own watching the world go by,the cat across the road comes across and he still does not move,We may take ahim a run out after in the car as he loves the car just to give him a change of scenery.
Take care

Re: Bronson not well
Hi there!
Hope Bronson soon recovers and is back to his normal self. It is such a worry, isn't it.
Best wishes - Samsmum (and Dad) and Sam.

Re: Bronson not well
It must be awful for Bronson not to be able to go out for 5 weeks and lead walks around the garden. He will go stir-crazy, at least you can take him for a drive for a change of scenary, but its good news that he is progressing so well
Hopefully, it will be better news for Bronson that he can at least go out for a 5 minute walk

Re: Bronson not well
So pleased he is recovering from the operation. 5 weeks without a good walk is not what Goldies like, but you have to think in the long term and look to a full recovery. Good luck.

Update on Bronson
Hi All,
Been to the vets this afternoon.Bronson greeted the vet with his wagging tail. The vet took his stitches out (Bronson still Waged his tail).
The vet was pleased with him and we asked about him going on lead walks he said yes he is allowed five to ten Minutes).
He has to go back in one months time.
