so sorry to hear about william. to lose such a good friend is very heartbreaking.....and we can all sympathise with you as most of us have had to make the same decision as you have. he sounded a real darling and you have obviously shown him lots of love and kindness during his time with you and take heart that no matter how bad his beginning it is how he lived in the end that mattered......
but life does go on and a heart capable of giving love should be used to it's full potential and so you now have paddy. i know the rescue you have been to and have noted the plight of the two 4 year olds (lots of very similar stories which sylvia specialises in -always shed many tears reading their stories).... but for those of us who believe in fate paddy was meant to be yours and so his story is only just beginning and i hope you all have a very happy ending xx

Adopting another dog quickly is the only way we can cope. William came to us 3 days after we lost our first retriever and when you have 2 dogs and lose one I firmly believe that the stress on the surviving dog can be immense. Paddy is doing a sterling job in making us smile again. I'll post his pic when I get a few minutes.
I met one of the two 4 year olds that Sylvia is trying to rehome and he brought a tear to my eye, in my opinion he was not ready for rehoming and needed fostering first. I would have taken him but as he had kennel cough and we couldn't introduce him to Ben, we had to think about Ben and his life too and I think there may have been too much of an impact on him and we couldn't take that chance without them meeting first. It was an extremely long and stressful day but Paddy is the result and it seems like it was meant to be.

A truly wonderful ending to your sad story. I'm afraid I couldn't read all of your initial post, it was so upsetting, but have just confronted my demons and read through it all again at length. So pleased for you all and of course for Paddy that a space was waiting for him. Good wishes are sent, with a special for your young Irish lad.

Paddy looks so settled already, looks like Bens not so sure about sharing the limelight . I'm sure they will be inseparable soon

Ben is just like my Emily then, she's a duchess and very stubborn at times, but we love her just as much for her personality.

Fabulous, giving Bentley a run for the top mucky dog spot. Just love it, the smile says it all, heaven..
