Hope he makes a full and rapid recovery. Big cuddles from me and big slobbery licks from bentley

Re: Cruciate insufficiency
Hope his recovery goes well, at least it's over with now, just a worrying time for you.
Re: Cruciate insufficiency
Thanks to everyone for the support. Harvey had a couple of sore days, and I had several nights sleeping on the sofa to be with him. He's loads better now. He's not happy that he only has short walks on the lead, but that's how it will be for a while. His wound is great, clean and healing. Of course he's been pampered beyond belief

Re: Cruciate insufficiency
Good news
These dogs just don't know what's good for them, they want to be off like the wind. Don't give in, keep up the good work, he'll thank you later ( we hope)
Take care both, and Mum put up with the sulks.

Re: Cruciate insufficiency
Glad all went well, I let Lucy off for the first time yesterday in our field have to admit I had tears in my eyes, she was so happy, its slow progress but you get there in the end....
Re: Cruciate insufficiency
I'm sure I'll be the same when Harvey finally gets off the lead. It will be great when he can join in with his friends again. Hopefully come summer like Jan says he can start to run around with them again. Glad Lucy is better.
Re: Cruciate insufficiency
Pleased to hear that Lucy is well and running around.
It's horrible and you feel guilty not being able to let them off and play, but someone we knew let his female German Shepherd off thinking his was being kind and she had to have a further operation and didn't recover fully like Ginnie did, I know they are different breeds but they were the same age and their op's were less than a week apart.
You'll get there, give Harvey a big cuddle from us

Re: Cruciate insufficiency
Harvey is now off his lead everything went well, and I really understand about getting weepy seeing him run free for the first time. We have taken it slowly, and finally took him to the beach last week and he was so happy
Re: Cruciate insufficiency
That's good news Julia,
Give Harvey a great big cuddle from us, lots of swimming in the sea made Ginnie strong again.
