Retriever Rescue

On the back of the gorgeous picture I was so lucky to win at the funday is this poem which I wanted to share with you all.

Reception Committee

We are the guardians of the gate
Custodians of the grounds
We're constant, loyal and faithful
And steadfast in our rounds.

Deterrent to intruders
Honour guard to guests
Unfailing in our duties
Our vigil never rests.

At visitors unwelcome
We snarl and bark and growl
And give them the impression
Our temperament is foul.

But for our family members
Their friends and colleagues too
The warmest of receptions
Is waiting here for you.

Reminded me of the huge welcome I got from from Duke and Tessa who are both absolutely gorgeous.

It is a nice poem and so apt for the beautiful picture. I am quite envious that it has been won.
A very generous gift to the rescue.

Duke & Tessa are always so excited when anyone comes to call because we are so quiet here. He does think that everyone is just coming to see him though.
