Has anyone seen the new advert for Pedigree, it's brilliant.
I wondered whether one of our Goldens is leading a double life.
Cobi or Ginnie perhaps...................Hmmmm

Its a very very muddy golden on a very white crisp bed...its fab! So true to life...

Watched for it tonight, no luck. Did see an advert for the new Disney movie, Santas something or other. Golden puppies, looked really cute, it just didn't go on long enough.

The film is Santa Buddies.

Oh no..... not another xmas film, and now people will want a golden for xmas...these films are nice but then you get the idiots who think they will get a "cute puppy" for the kids for xmas...and then Jan will be inudated with puppies and young dogs as the kids get fed up with the puppy, so lets get rid...aaarrhhh.....

Sorry must have missed this post... with my ranting in the moans and groans section.....

I agree with Kathryn.... the kids will want a 'golden' puppy.... that is until they find out that it grows, and grows, and grows... and also needs walks... and it chews up their favourite toys... and Mummy and Daddy have extra bills each month ... food, vets bills... look what happens.....Crufts, with the best in show.... everybody wants one of that breed... the poor puppy is just a fashion accessory in some households.... BUT NOT ON THIS WEBSITE.

I haven't seen the advertisement but Cobi could certainly qualify for the filthiest of all hounds.... It was 'think I'm too hot and I'll just drop my body in a puddle and wriggle' yesterday, good job the vet beds aren't white in my car.

I do understand the concerns about wanting a golden when the kids see one on the adverts. But in this case, we can at least look on the bright side a bit.

A) The golden looks MUCH more like a mud monster than any specific breed to anyone who doesn't know their dogs. It has about 4 inches of blonde snout and the rest is pure mud.

B) Any parent who sees the little blighter rolling mud on their pristine bed is more likely to flatly refuse to have any dog ever again than to think, "Ahhhhh, how cute! I too could have my house turned upside down and made filthy! I think I'll get a golden......and shares in flash liquid, Mop Makers ltd, the Dry Cleaning Company and Mr Sheen."

No, if there was ever a relatively safe commercial, this is it. It's not perfect, but I don't think it's panic stations yet based on this advert.

I cover Tobys eyes when its on so he doesn't get any ideas - he loves to watch dogs on the telly.

I must admit, my heart sinks when I see cute little puppies being portrayed - if only they knew ........

Saw the pedigree advert for the first time last night and yep..true golden,made me smile, Paddy is a mud magnet,and has looked like that many a time...hopefully the people with the beautiful pristine houses will be put off, and yes dogs get muddy and sit on furniture...

Saw the pedigree ad. lastnight, oh my goodness, and I thought ours got muddy!!!

yes it made me laugh...and I thought of an acquaintance of mine owning her first golden retriever,,,cream carpet and leather couches in the lounge. she has decided to buy a very large rug and some practical throws!

Haven't seen the ad yet but will look out for it.
In the Summer when Sam stayed with Harold next door, because of Harold's age we asked a neighbour and her teenaged boys to walk Sam.
Well, they did, and Sam found the river!! He must have grovelled about in all the muck and mud he could find, dirty beast, and Helen had to take him home and hose him and then shampoo him before she dared to take him back to Harold, still wet and dishevelled but at least clean. Sam has not learned the niceties of life yet, but there is time!!
