Cleaning Sam's teeth.

Post by Samsmum »

Hello there!
This is Samsmum to tell you about Sam's little caper.
We took him to the Vet's on Wednesday to have his booster jab and M.O.T.
Colin said that he was absolutely fine except for a bit of plaque on his two upper canines.
I purchased a tube of canine toothpaste, "Poultry flavoured", and when we got home I got out his tooth brush and put on the toothpaste. Normally he will stand still and let me do anything, even to trimming his eyelashes, which have a tendency to grow in, but as soon as I started to brush his teeth, he flew! I followed him to our bedroom, and found him lying, behind the bed, looking as though he had been there all day. I went out into the hall and called him, and he came to me, took one look at the toothbrush and fled again.
I stayed where I was and called him again. He galloped up, threw himself down on the floor, and lay on his back with his feet in the air. I cleaned his teeth there and then.
Was this his idea of surrender, I wonder?
