Jazz amazes me with his fishing skills, how long has he been fishing? what does he do... does he just stand motionless while the fish swim ran his legs and then pounce?

Going back to dogs taking things.... Mum's first golden Gemma used to like taking hats if enyone bent down to speak to her.....it was gone.... and ladies hankies that were tucked up their sleeves (I think I mentioned this before) whoosh that was gone and down Gem's throat.... a couple of days later.... you could find it on the lawn.... ready to be washed !!!

and the the big sinful one..... Gin...... opened a tupperware container with a homemade loaf in it,(it was on the hall floor ready with eveything that Mum and Dad were taking caravanning) , there she was just like the sphinx....and it was between her paws and she was in a trance 'mouthing it' (similar to the bigcats with their prey) Dad said it'll be ok she's only punctured it.....
(Uggh, I wouldn't eat it especially after what Ginnie used to eat)

Re Jazz and his fishing. He treads for them, the Flounders seem to be in dishes in the sand and he can feel them with his paws. He then stands motionless but one paw appears to be wafting the sand around the fish, then there is a deep intake of air and under the head goes and picks them out.
He does not kill them, just brings them out. Sometimes the Fisherman take them, we have eaten the odd one , but most go back unharmed.

My next door neighbour was looking after hers friends old and blind labrador.
The lab took herself upstairs when into my neighbours hangbag took out the sweets, scoffed the lot then took herself back downstairs.
Now thats what I call a sense of smell.

Hello there!
It is not only Goldens who are unmitigated grabbers of anything they fancy.
We once had a black and white cat, Tabitha; I had invited the elderly lady who lived next door to our then home, and given her a salmon sandwich and a cup of tea. We were sitting talking and she had the sandwich in her hand, when from nowhere this black and white flash sailed through the air, and the sandwich was gone!!
We had two Beagles, Zoe and Tranter, some years ago, and I had cooked a whole leg of pork on Christmas Eve and put it in the utility room to cool. Our daughter had gone out to feed her quinea pigs and the dogs had a slightly early Christmas dinner. Don't know where they put it - it was huge.
I teach music, and one day a student came and put his schoolbag on the settee; we heard a noise, and our first Golden, Meg, had been in his bag, removed a beef sandwich, and eaten it. I had to rustle something else to put in his bag.
What a bonus it is with Sam, never having to move any food as he never steals anything; life isn't quite so exciting though, I have to say!!!

I was watching " its me or your dog " a little while ago, they had a dog which stole food when they walked out the room ( like most dogs ) she put a video camera around the dogs neck and watched him from the next room, when he went to steal she shouted "LEAVE" which came through a speaker in the kitchen. the dog was so surprised that he left the food. Now she did say that method wasn,t the most practical, and she did conclude if you don,t want it stolen then don,t leave it out.

I do love watching dog training programes.Did anyone else see that one ?
