Gorgeous Gordon - now running free xx

Post by gordons mum and dad »

This is really a short message just to let you all know that our great, big, beautiful and gorgeous Gordon went to run free for ever at Rainbow Bridge on Sunday 18 September 2011, aged "just" 15 years. Sadly Gordon had got bronchitis a couple of weeks ago, which then turned into pneumonia, and our big lad just couldn't conquer it. The last three pictures of the fun day show Gordon with Codie on the first one, and then the last two are just Gordon on his own. You may remember him sitting near to the kitchen door, woofing at everyone who passed with food. I think some of you did give into him!!! Both Bob and I are very proud of our big lad, and thank Jan enormously for giving us the pleasure of looking after Gordon for the last eight years, we have some fantastic memories which bring a smile to our face whenever we think of him. Gorgeous Gordon of Golborne loved everyone, and everyone loved him - he will be remembered for a long time to come. Bye bye beautiful boy xx

He was just that... gorgeous. Large full of life and naughty. Last time he came here we could hear rustling and tearing and went into the utility room to find he had opened a new large bag of food and was helping himself. Wa all just laughed he was so unconcerned.

Thinking of you xxxx

Thankyou all very much for your thoughts and kind words. Lynn, you are absolutely right, he didn't like blondes, although he did mellow slightly in his old age. Also, EVERYTIME we went to see Jan, good old Gordon would find his way into a food bag. Jan once put an empty box on top of the food bag, did that stop him?..., NO WAY his head was in the food bag, with the empty box on top of his head!!!!

So sad to hear of your loss of big Gordon. He was a real dignified old gentleman at the Fun Day. When I came round with my raffle, you may remember I spent quite a bit of time with you and Codie and your friends from Durham, and I just wanted to get down and cuddle him. He will be so missed. My thoughts and sympathy are with you, Carole, Bob, and Codie.
God Bless - Samsmum (Joyce).
