Bereavement

Post by nbpoppy121 »

I'm sorry to have to report that our remaining Golden Retriever, Poppy, on the left in the picture, died on Saturday evening. She was almost 14 years old. I knew that she wasn't right when I went to work and the fact that I wasn't there at the end will stay with me forever.
We will be taking her to Lady Hayes crematorium in Frodsham in the next day or so.
A beautiful dog in every sense of the word, we will miss her so much.
Rest in peace my Poppy x

I am so sorry that you have lost your lovely girl, Poppy. They become so much a part of our lives, and however long we have them, it's never long enough is it? She will have left you with wonderful memories, as did Defa.

Thinking of you all at this sad time.

So sorry for your loss. Poppy will always be with you in your heart. Try not to beat yourself up about not being there. It was perhaps a better that way for both of you in some way. They are such intelligent beings and the most important thing is that they don't suffer. It's us humans who have to try and cope without them.

You will have loads of wonderful memories when the tears have lessened.

So sad to hear of your loss of Poppy. I'm sure we all feel for you in your sorrow and hope that one day, you may be able to give a forever home to another lovely Golden. When we lose them, there is an awful hole in our lives, and I don't think we ever completely get over losing them, even when we acquire another dog.
God bless - Samsmum.

Dear Colin and Di, So sorry that you have lost your friend Poppy. I know how you must be feeling. I to lost my friend Katie almost 14 in January. You must be missing her so much.Don't be hard on yourselves for not being there. Poppy knew she was loved and you gave her a home and family. Poppy wouldn't want you to feel bad about it. It takes time and its right that time is a great healer. I know I don't feel as bad now as I did,but Katie is never far from my thoughts and I felt priviliged to have had her in my life.(need a tissue now).

she is probably running around the bridge now like a young puppy
