anybody there
How quiet is this site at the moment I am assuming that everyone is away Hope you are all O K . Lucy and I spend our days drying off

Re: anybody there
no jan you are not alone. we could have gone on holiday but we thought it would be just as much fun and a heck of a lot cheaper to just swim round the front garden. by the way our gills are coming along just nicely.
can't believe the weather, can you? even george isn't impressed and she doesn't normally mind a bit of rain. she's fast asleep on the mat with her ball at the moment. the only thing with it because she isn't going out so much i haven't got a wet dog rubbing her body against my leg like she did yesterday because she had an itch !!!

Re: anybody there
Hi everybody, we're here again.
Dogs went out yesterday with their raincoats on!!! Sick of the rain, just seemed to dry out, then back on next walk time. Yesterday, I went out in rain jacket, wellies and water proof trousers. High time we told someone up there...IT'S JULY..summer.

I'm back.......
we got back yesterday..... the rain seems to have missed us, thought we were going to get soaked the other morning, very heavy rain during the night.... sky black and angry looking.... so put the waterproofs and leggings on when we went out with Gin and Co.... and the sun came out... it was warm walking with that lot on !!!!!
Spent a lot of time picking the thorns and sticky burr things out of Cobi, she dives headfirst straight into the brambles looking for 'bunnies' ..... sadly quite a few of them had mixamatosis and were on their last legs.... she was so proud strutting with one in her mouth, tail up.... only to be told 'put that down' and leave it !!!

Re: anybody there
We are still here Jan, but very busy and stressed at the moment, have just sold our house, we think ,so had a mad rush round as our first choice was sold last month. Found a new one just round the corner from where we live now, but dont estate agents , solicitors, and mortgage building societies, make things as stressful as possible, you forget how much a hassle moving is, and we have only just started the ball rolling, thankfully Emily and Snowy are oblivious. Will keep in touch as much as possible, but may not post as much as I do normally

Re: anybody there
Hello Jan ,
still here and wet most of the time, but that is normal with boss pup Jazz & his fishing. Candy does not go so far now.
Prefers her home as she can see very little and as long as furniture is not moved about she is ok. Knows where her food is anyway !!! She is not so keen on rough ground as her legs are not so good, prefers grass. Still a happy little soul and enjoys life despite her disabilities.
Lots of love to you & Lucy.

Re: anybody there
Thanks for all your replies I am pleased everyone is O K. I have been busy pulling up Himalayan balsam in the woods. What a mess they are killing all the indiginous plants. They are taking over, but everyone leaves it to me. ALthough I have to admit it is very satisfying pulling up these 6ft plants. They all think I am mad they could be right.???

Re: anybody there
Hi everyone, haven't been on much recently. Things have been quite busy at home. A few medical appointments. Still have my frozen shoulder physio has told me to go to gp re an injection(steroid).Been trying to paint fence panels in between the heavy showers. It is annoying, frustrating as there's lots needing done.Just have to get on with it. Louise passed out at work last month so weve been at the hospitals for e.e.g. and m.r.i scan. Quite a worrying time. She has been ok since this happened but consultants got the tests, which I would have insisted on.
It may have been tiredness but she did have a seizure or the consultant did talk about something else that happens to people if they are having to get up and down and the blood is not getting to the brain. Results in about 4-6weeks. Between doctors, dental app etc feel as though I'm living in a whirlwind just now.
Hope everyone is well.

Re: anybody there
The Balsam has quite a nice flower but just depletes the soil. Usually wouldn't grow in woods but we have the stream running through and they love the water so hence the problem. Apparently the scientists are trying to create a virus to kill it off but not too happy about that as you know what will happen there ???

Re: anybody there
When we lived at our previous home, we went to our local forrest every day with the dogs. There was lots of a beautiful plant there with pea like flowers that when they reached maturity they popped, then the seed scattered. You could hear them when walking by, loved to see and hear them. The more into plant life I delved, I came accross this...BALSAM. and there I was thinking it was lovely!!!!!Can quite understand why this was introduced, such a pretty flower.
Talking of plants, we've just returned from a jaunt to the North Yorks Moor area, anyone interested in gardens and in the Helmsley area, go and have a visit to the walled garden there. What a wonderful place, so beautiful, tranquil, and all the work done by volunteers. A lot of work as been completed since our last visit, all to the old glass houses and general layout. They also have a wonderful tearoom where you can enjoy a snack or meal. Well worth a visit.
