How time flies...

Post by julie »

Poppy has just had her first Homeday :2818: with us on 18th Sept. but it feels like she's always been here. She's always ready to play, go exploring or just lie on your feet and be nearby.

Thanks again Jan for bringing her to our family.

Happy Home Day Poppy, my how the times flown by. Just loved the photo of you all at funday. The girls look really thrilled with her.
By the way Julie, did you ever manage to get her over the bridge?

No, never more than two paws on the second step. To be honest, her reaction was so strong - lying flat against the floor and a stressed bark - that we didn't push it and make it worse. Even treat bribery didn't work.

We do still pass the bridges and have a look to keep her seeing and sniffing them, I usually sit on the steps for a few minutes trying to show it's Ok but she won't have it, as soon as I go higher than a few steps, she's back to worried girl.

On the other hand, she'll now jump into the bath herself, before she cowered on the floor and had to be lifted in. She likes licking the soap off herself :2029:

Molly was thrilled to 'win' a rosette at the funday for leading Poppy in one of the classes. They're great pals - she says it's because they're the same age. My sister took the girls and Poppy to meet my Mum in Wales a few weeks ago, going through Liverpool towards the tunnel, Poppy was barking at people on the street, only to be told by Molly - no need to bark at them becasue they're only people, just like you and me!

Happy home day Poppy. It was just great to meet you again with Poppy and the family at the fun day.
Jazz says he will try to get a fish for Poppy.

Happy Forever Home Day Poppy. It was lovely to see you all again on Funday. Ella still has problems with getting in the car.....she hates it, but once we are on the way she gets used to it and copes ok, so we don't worry the same now.
Big :bighug: s for Poppy xx
