Just to let everyone know that for almost the last two months, we have been living with the fact Snowy was diagnosed with a mast cell tumor, about six weeks ago he had it removed, and a couple of weeks later he had his lymph nodes tested, for any sign that cancer was still present. In one place it was still showing cancerous cells so he had to have another operation. We have been very worried and the long wait has been awful, we have had a few dark days, and a few phone calls to Jan for support and reassurance(THANKS SO MUCH JAN).At last today we got the phone call we have been praying for he has been given the all clear, to say its a relief, is a understatement. He will still have to be checked regularly, as this grade of tumor may reoccur, but only maybe. So its the best news we could have hoped for.We are going on holiday for two weeks tomorrow, a relative is coming to stay with the dogs, so they will be well cared for while we are away. So im sorry I will not be able to respond to any replies after tonight.
Just noticed posted in the wrong place.

Hi Lenny,
So pleased that Snowy has been given the all-clear, Let's hope it is very long-term.
Hope you have a lovely holiday, you need it after all the worry.
Take care, and talk to you soon.
Samsmum.
What good news Lenny. As you say, the relief must be enormous. We were so worried after Saturday, at least now we know the story of it all. David will be relieved when I tell him. You all have been in our thoughts the past few days. Also pleased to hear the prognosis is good for the future.
Our love and fondest thoughts to yourself and Celia, and of course, Snowy and Emily.
Have a wonderful holiday, after everything you've been through you need to sit back and enjoy the sunshine. Hope your back 'op was successful too.
Very pleased to read of the good news about Snowy.
May he have many more happy Years in a good and caring home.
Have a good holiday after all the stress.
Pat , Syd, Jazz & Candy
I am so glad to hear that he is well. Jasper had that sort of tumour about 6 years before we lost him (at almost 15 and not from the tumour).
You can relax now
Another update on Snowy, we have had a bit of a worrying time this last week as last friday we found another small lump on Snowy,so we booked him in the vets for tests on monday and got the results yesterday. It was good news the lump was not cancer, and should go away of its own accord. He of course was oblivious to what we have been going through. At the vets he gets such a fuss made of him he cant wait to get in and has to go to everyone in turn to tickle and stroke him. Once again we have been on tenterhooks, they dont half make you suffer at times, but we wouldnt change him for anything. Hes such a happy lovable dog.
So sorry you have had a rough time with your Snowy Lenny. If its any consolation Ellie has had mast cell tumours all her life.We used to have them removed as advised by the vet but decided not to when she got to a certain age as it wasn't fair any more. She has quite a few now but they don't seem to be growing very fast at all.One vet even mentioned Chemo which i am glad we decided against.
So glad this one wasn't anything.I know how you feel i was always checking Ellie for lumps and bumps.I must admit we half thought she wouldn't get to old age.I hope our experience gives you some optimism
Diane
Many thanks for all your replies, it is good to be able to communicate with others who know what it means when you are worried about a dog, The encouragement you have given us does mean a lot. It is nice to share you worries with people who understand what you have been going through. A special thanks to Ellie's mum to know that even if the cancer did return, we might still get more years to share with Snowy. We hope Ellie has a happy long life with you.
